Anthony Brown and Group Therapy Guitar Tab: “And You Never Will” Guitar Lesson
Hey guys, welcome back to my blog. Today, I’m going to break down one of the most FUN songs I’ve played in a long time. It’s a great modern Gospel song called “And You Never Will” by Anthony Brown and Group Therapy, featuring vocalist Maurette Brown Clark.

In the video I’ll also do a quick run-through of my recording setup, for all you gear heads!
Let’s start with the video play-through.
There’s a really handy Youtube feature now, in case you didn’t know – where you can slow videos down to 50% and maintain the pitch. Just click the little gear icon at the bottom right of a Youtube video to slow it down if you want.
Let’s start at the top!
This first opening lick is one you’ll be repeating a lot, but in different keys as the song modulates in its sections.
Intro Chorus
The 2nd ending of the first verse is one of my favorite parts. I like to use my wah pedal on this section to open up the sound of the open low E string.
2nd Ending
Section C has some cool syncopations. Watch how on the first and second passes you have to tag the Eb5 chord on different beats. Fun stuff, especially when you’re locked in with a live band!

Here’s where we do our first of many modulations. Now we are in the key of E major. Get ready, because the next section will modulate too!
Modulation #1 – E Major
After quite a few more modulations on the choruses, we get to Section J that’s up 2 Whole Steps from where we began. I love this section because of the cool Blues scale idea over the Bm7 chord in Bar 137. Contained within that Blues scale is a familiar diminished arpeggio that you should recognize! Also in Bar 141, watch how Anthony Brown is super creative and intelligently uses this melody to modulate yet again!

Section K after that is another cool modulated piece ending with a powerful line.
